I Never Stop.

This is no longer trivia.

These long years gone

Have hollowed this truth,

To a husk.

I loved, but since then have never lived.

You never joined me.

I had no leverage other than my innocence,

I have my spirit, which you returned.

I was never enough.

I loved you.

But that was not enough.

We were two,

Fifteen and seventeen,

We never really did the maths.

And yet, ever so often

I long for you,

I long for them.

The dust has long since settled

And the stillness of age descends.

I roll my recollections up,

And place them again,

Beneath my breath.

I never stop loving you.
